SUSTAINABILITY

SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Our sustainability policy is guided by a holistic approach, aligning our operations and objectives with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the international climate agreement. We place strong emphasis on the selection of raw materials, prioritizing renewable and biodegradable options, as well as ensuring optimal working conditions throughout production and use.

We are committed to protecting our planet and supporting the wellbeing of people—doing our part to contribute to a more sustainable society and a healthier natural environment.

The policy also outlines the actions we have taken so far to support the UN’s goals, as well as the measures and targets we have set for the future.

ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS

We are committed to long-term, goal-oriented environmental efforts across manufacturing, distribution, and product management. Our approach considers the entire lifecycle of our products—from raw materials to recycling. We comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulatory requirements, consistently exceeding standards.

We have been certified for many years according to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Today, more than 200 of our products are environmentally certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Good Environmental Choice (Bra Miljöval), and the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association.

OUR COMMITMENT

At NSI, we strive to be at the forefront of sustainability within our industry in Europe and to actively contribute to sustainable development. We take the scientific evidence of human impact on climate change seriously. In support of the global agenda, we are committed to steering our operations and setting clear objectives in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the international climate agreement.

OUR VISION

NSI aims to be a sustainability leader within our industry in Europe and to actively contribute to sustainable development. We take the scientific evidence of human-driven climate change seriously. To support the global agenda, we align our operations and objectives with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the international climate agreement.

TRUE SUSTAINABILITY – CRADLE TO CRADLE CERTIFIED

Our Cradle to Cradle certification is proof that our products are created with care for both people and the environment. This means that every step – from material selection to production and recycling – meets high standards of circularity, health, and responsibility. You can trust that you are choosing products designed for a sustainable future.

ABOUT US

WE DELIVER SOLUTIONS THAT WORK, TODAY AND IN THE FUTURE
With roots going back to the 1970s, NSI builds on a strong Nordic tradition in surface treatment and industrial cleaning chemistry. Our trusted brands – Solmaster and Ilves in Finland, and PLS and Svensk Rödfärg in Sweden – have developed reliable and sustainable products for professional and industrial use for decades.

In 2021, we brought these strengths together under one name NSI to form a modern, flexible, and customer-focused company. With production sites in Skövde, Skänninge, Lohja, and Lahti, we deliver efficient, dependable, and environmentally conscious products straight from our own factories.

At NSI, your needs come first. Whether you choose from our existing portfolio or co-develop something entirely new, we deliver not just products – we deliver solutions that work, today and in the future.
